After she graduated, she studied photography for two years at Vanderbilt’s Sarratt Art Studio where they taught her more about composition, film photography, lighting and Photoshop. What first began as a fun after-school hobby in High School has blossomed into a creative passion that she knows she will carry with her for the rest of her life.

How did you get started with photography
I began chasing sunsets and hunting down old barns on my bicycle when I was about nine. I was obsessed with photographing light and color and anything old! I took every photography class I could in high school and majored in photojournalism in college, when the shift in my interest became capturing people and emotion.
What do you love about your job?
I love hearing people’s stories and the challenge of producing emotion in print. I love collaborating and creating. I love that it’s always something different, every day.
What are some of your favorite places in Nashville to take photographs?
Nashville is a beautiful, bustling city with a wealth of photogenic backdrops. I like to talk with my clients about what their style is and then suggest either a rural or urban shoot. Walking across our pedestrian bridge downtown and onto Lower Broadway, there are opportunities everywhere to get edgy, urban, vibrantly colored shots that are full of the energy of the city. Equally convenient, Nashville’s many public parks and green spaces offer a slower paced, softer and more rural look to shoots. Ellington Agricultural Center is a favorite, especially for families.See portfolio & book
