BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO OUR PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO

My name is Max and I own Maxim Photo Studio. My Studio has primary locations in Cincinnati OH and Nashville TN and is available for destinations sessions nationwide. The Studio specializes in Contemporary Wedding Photojournalism and Amazing Portraits. Over the past 19 years, I  have personally photographed over 700 weddings all over US and Mexico. During the same time we’ve photographed over 650 engagements all over the US including Nashville, Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando, New York City, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Columbus, and Dayton.

This blog is an extension of who I am personally and the vision which I offer to my photography clients. I think it is important for you to know the photographer’s style and personality and that is why you’ll see personal as well as professional posts here. My studio and I do not just sell coverage, prints, and albums, but we sell ourselves through our unparalleled Studio experience.

ENHANCING OUR  WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY COVERAGE

One of the most popular wedding photography options is the Unboxed Photo Booth. It is so popular that even DJs are offering photo booths. In reality these DJ lead photo booths are really just Mall Kiosks where the guests get to press a button and squeeze  into a box with no more that 2 of their friends. You wouldn’t trust your once in a live time wedding photography coverage to an assistant photographer, so why settle for the same when it comes to photo booths. Max leads all of the Live Photo Booth wedding coverages at reception by providing a 10’x10′ backdrop of your choice, props, on the spot color corrected 4×6 or 5×7 prints which your wedding guests can take away as favors,  and signature books in as little as 10 days after the wedding. • We had Maxim Photo Studio shoot both our engagement and wedding day pictures. Our engagement session was in Ault Park during the cherry blossoms which were absolutely gorgeous. At the time we both we horrible at posing for pictures and super awkward in front of the camera. Max and Angela made it really easy for us. They told us what to do to make us look good and all we had to do was kiss, smile and listen! The engagement session really helped us feel more confident and comfortable for our wedding day pictures. • Where do I begin?! Max and his team photographed my wedding at The Phoenix in Cincinnati in late August 2014. Max and Angela are the best; you will not be disappointed in their service. Max goes above and beyond in every way possible. To help future brides, I thought it would be beneficial to map out how my wonderful experience went. On a Saturday in May, my husband and I had our engagement session with Max and Angela. It was wonderful to have a few hours with Max before the actual wedding day. I (the bride) am a very photogenic person; however, my husband is not; so, he was anxious. About 15 minutes into our engagement session, both of us were completely relaxed and felt 100% comfortable with Max. Part of our comfort came with seeing how confident Max was in his work; he knew the exact angels and lighting to make what would have been a good picture, a great one. Not to mention, our engagement session ran over a bit and Max did not make us feel pressured at all; he just kept taking pictures (300+ to be exact) Fast forward a few months to the big day! Max and Angela were back at it again. Angela came to our hotel to photograph myself and the bridesmaids getting our hair and makeup done. Angela got to the hotel early which was amazing; it was nice not having to worry about the photographer on your wedding day. She not only captured posed pictures, but she was able to capture so many candid pictures; which are my favorite! While Angela was with the me and the bridesmaids, Max was at The Phoenix taking pictures of the ceremony location, the reception hall and all of the little details every bride puts into the wedding (décor, flowers, brides’ accessories, etc.). When I arrived to The Phoenix, my nerves really kicked in! However, as soon as I talked with Max, I was immediately calmed and could see that he had everything under control and would be there to capture every moment of my big day! My husband and I did not do a “first look”; therefore, after the ceremony, pictures needed to be taken fairly quick. If you do not have an organized photographer, you may not get the pictures you want/desired. With that being said, Max probably had quite a bit of stress, but he did not show it to us. He was calm but assertive which helped us get all of the pictures we desired! Max and Angela were wonderful to my family and my bridal party. He made myself and the bridesmaids laugh and feel beautiful the entire day. I also received feedback from some groomsmen during the reception regarding Max; more than half of the 8 groomsmen approached my husband and I to compliment Max; they could not stop raving about how comfortable they felt with Max and how much of a stand up guy he is. About 2 weeks after the wedding, Max emailed and said my pictures were ready to pick up; after 2 weeks! When we went to view the pictures, Max showed us our video montage and every picture was outstanding! My pictures could not have turned out better; SO MANY pictures looked like something out of a magazine. I receive compliments on them weekly (still!)! His work is amazing and I will cherish my beautiful pictures forever! Max also brought his Live Photo Booth for the reception- WHAT A HIT!!! • We just had our wedding at the end of July so this review is WAY overdue! (sorry Max…) After searching for and meeting with several photographers, my now husband and I chose Maxim Photo Studio based on his personality alone. He was very professional, friendly, and once you got to know him (and Angela), a very fun and creative photographer! One thing that was most important for us was that whenever we needed to reach him for a question or concern, either by phone or by email, he was prompt in either answering or getting back to us extremely quickly. Living in Florida and having our wedding in southern Indiana, that was crucial for us. Our package included a free engagement session, a wedding package in which we received a USB with the rights to all our photos, a signature guest book that had our engagement photos on pages for people to sign around, a photo booth (with props) and 2 signature books that included all the photos for the photo booth. We decided to splurge a little with our photographer because once the wedding is over, all that is left are the photos! A lot of other photographers I met were cocky. Max didn’t come off that way; he was more confident that his work was great instead of cocky. When we had our engagement session, he explained that he likes to get to know how we photograph, what we’re comfortable with, and how we interact with each other so he’ll have a better understanding come the day of the wedding, which is pretty brilliant… On our wedding day, he already knew how we acted with each other and with him. We didn’t have to worry about becoming comfortable with him all over again; instead we focused on taking our pictures! As far as his pictures go, I was specific that I wanted a nice, crisp, clean, and bright look to all of the photographs. (That’s just my personal style) He hit the nail on the head with that style! If there was a photograph that we forgot to list and we wanted it, he made it happen! They were great at getting the shots that we wanted, and even thinking of some great ideas that we didn’t think of! All in all, I as a bride, never had to worry about my photographer messing up or not being organized. He had everything taken care of! This was definitely not his first rodeo, and he did an amazing job at taking care of us! We have beautiful photos left over for us to enjoy for years to come!
